Learn To Sing with MK AcapellaJune and July 2009 MK Acapella ran a very successful and well-attended six-week course on Learning To Sing in Four Part Harmony. Both men and women from the Milton Keynes area were invited to learn about singing in four-part harmony, and at least 60 people came along each Monday evening. So many people came along that the course was split into a men's group and a women's group for much of the time.
The basics of singing were taught as well as some more advanced techniques, and four classic barbershop songs were used as vehicles to practice the newly-acquired crafts: The men worked on Dream A Little Dream Of Me and I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen, while the women worked on What A Wonderful World and Under The Boardwalk. In addition, everyone learned And So To Sleep Again in wonderful eight-part harmony!
At the end of the six weeks a concert was held, featuring the two Singing Course Choruses as well as quartet Pony Express, octet The Chordbusters (seen below), the Junction 14 ladies chorus, and of course MK Acapella.
